Helicopter Aircrew Officer

The Helicopter Aircrew Officer Course is designed for personnel looking for a career in aviation in the role of a Helicopter Aircrew Officer. This course is the only course of its type in the world offering university certification and CEU’s to successful participants through Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University – Worldwide Campus. This course also offers certification to those personnel already working in the role who would like recognition of their current skills and qualifications.

The syllabus of this course is one of the most comprehensive available on the market exceeding the requirements of FAA, CASA and EASA regulations and includes industry approvals under relevant regulatory bodies to ensure graduates are fully qualified, i.e. CAO 29.11 Appendix III approval (Australia only assessment) for Winching/Hoisting operations (through our approved staff assessor). The syllabus offers a variety of specialised study streams for crew wishing to be involved in SAR/EMS operations, Aerial Fire Fighting operations or Airborne Policing or a full combined program encompassing all specialties. Combined with a university certificate, this course provides graduates with the knowledge, skills and qualifications no other course of its type provides making graduates ‘job ready’ with skills that far exceed any other.

The course itself is divided into two (2) components with Phase 1 providing theory training via correspondence self-directed study (with instructor support) and Phase 2 comprising the practical skills training and assessment. Phase 1 involves in excess of 30 modules of study which can be expected to take over 8 weeks to complete (varies depending on student ability). With intimate course numbers the Phase 2 practical runs over 2 weeks full-time over consecutive weeks.
